Managing Change: The Expanding Role of Middle Managers in Hospitals - The goal of this ongoing programme is to improve patient care by upgrading management skills of key hospital and health professional staff. This initiative is an extension of Project HOPE’s successful health care management training program, which began in the early 1990s.
|
| 1991 |
Project HOPE launched several initiatives including a nursing programme; a comprehensive training package for women’s health issues such as cancer prevention, early detection, and surveillance, cancer diagnosis training for health professionals, educational programmes in reproductive genetics, and counselling programs for young pregnant women; neonatal outreach education designed to teach early stabilisation of high risk infants and neonatal resuscitation; development of cardiac diagnostic and treatment services for children born with congenital heart disease; biomedical engineering programs in which HOPE helped develop repair and maintenance facilities; healthcare policy including the development of coursework and curricula for healthcare managers. |
| 1992 |
Project HOPE begins training senior-level managers from healthcare facilities focusing on areas such as policy analysis, marketing, human resource management, and financial analysis. |
| 2000 |
Programme training mid-level managers of healthcare facilities begins to help coordinate and compliment professional relationships between senior and mid-level managers. |

This work still continues today, 2009. |
